You have started saving before.
You saved for a few weeks.
Then something happened.
You withdrew.
You stopped.
Later, you started again.
If this sounds familiar, don't simply tell yourself:
“I lack discipline.”
Ask a better question:
“What system am I using?”
A habit that depends entirely on motivation is fragile.
When money is kept together with everyday spending money, it becomes easier to touch.
When there is no clear goal, it becomes easier to stop.
When the amount you planned to save is unrealistic, consistency becomes difficult.
The answer may not be trying harder.
It may be building a better structure.
TRY THIS
Choose:
- a realistic amount,
- a clear purpose,
- a regular schedule,
- and a place where the money is separated from everyday spending.
Then focus on repeating the action.
You don't have to be perfect.
You have to become consistent.
The goal is not to start saving beautifully. The goal is to keep going.
