“I will save whatever remains.”
It sounds reasonable.
But there is a problem.
Something always remains to be spent.
There is always another need.
Another meal.
Another request.
Another purchase.
Another small thing that “doesn't matter.”
And eventually, nothing remains.
Saving therefore becomes something you do only when circumstances allow it.
Try changing the order.
Instead of:
Earn → Spend → Save what remains
try:
Earn → Set aside savings → Spend what remains
The difference may look small, but the thinking is completely different.
You are telling yourself:
“My future is one of today's financial responsibilities.”
You don't need to begin with an amount that will make life impossible.
Begin with something realistic and consistent.
The goal is to create a habit that survives ordinary days.
YOUR ACTION
Before your next spending day begins, decide:
“This is the amount I will save before I start spending.”
Then protect it.
Don't keep postponing your future until there is “extra” money.
Your future deserves a place in today's income.
